Prospective patient studies

For over 25 years, we have been enrolling patients with suspected or angiographically confirmed coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, or heart failure in prospective cohort studies. To date, this has allowed the recruitment of over 3,000 patients for cardiometabolic studies. Additionally, patients with end-stage kidney disease, as well as those with breast or colorectal cancer, have been included in further studies. A comprehensive profile of clinical, anatomical, psychological, and laboratory parameters has been collected from each of our patients.

Patients are monitored at regular intervals, and data on the occurrence of new events and mortality are systematically collected. Along with continuously updated molecular parameters and prospective data, these efforts have generated extensive databases that form the foundation for ongoing statistical analyses. Machine learning techniques are employed to advance these analyses further, uncovering hidden relationships and enabling the prediction of disease outcomes.
